At Snow College, our Nursing programs prepare students for dynamic and meaningful careers in healthcare. Whether you're entering the profession through our Registered Nursing (RN) program or advancing your credentials through the LPN to RN Bridge program, you'll gain the skills and experience needed to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a variety of settings.

Registered Nurses may find career opportunities in such places as hospitals, home health, public health, and long term care facilities.

Specialized Areas of Practice

Nurses are able to choose a variety of areas in which to work such as:

  • Medical/Surgical Nursing - the foundation of hospital-based care
  • Critical Care - Working in ICUs of emergency departments
  • Geriatrics - caring for elderly patients
  • Pediatrics - supporting the health of infants, children, and adolescents
  • Obstetrics - assisting in maternity and newborn care
  • Psychiatric/Mental Health - providing behavioral health support
  • Home Health Care - helping patients maintain independence at home
  • Public Health - promoting health and preventing disease in communities
  • Teaching - educating the next generation of nurses

Annual Wage

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the mean annual wage for registered nurses was $86,070 (or $41.38 per hour) as of May 2023. As demand for skilled nursing professionals continues to grow, so do the opportunities for advancement, specialization, and job security.
