Rene Barlow

Rene Barlow

René Barlow is the owner of Barlow Bookkeeping. She specializes in empowering small business owners to gain confidence and clarity with their finances. She makes bookkeeping approachable and easy to understand, like learning from a best friend who just happens to love spreadsheets.

Through her workshops, training packages, customized bookkeeping services, and new monthly Bookkeeping Power Hour, René helps women save time, reduce stress, and make informed financial decisions that set their businesses up for long-term success. When she's not at her computer, you can find her cheering at her kids' activities, playing the piano, or performing Taiko, a style of Japanese drumming.

During our session, we walk through the key bookkeeping areas together: separating business and personal finances, software options, invoicing and receiving payments, expense tracking, and receipt management. We identify exactly where you are and map out your next steps.

Megan Bird

Megan Bird

Meet Megan: As a mom of 4 kids, I worked part-time in our family business as well as a pharmacy technician for 17 years. When my youngest went to preschool, I wanted to complete my four-year degree and decided on accounting. Starting my own business has offered me the opportunity to meet many amazing business owners. I value the relationships made and look forward to many more. In my free time I enjoy baking, walking, and going for rides in the outdoors.

I started my accounting business to help business owners understand their finances and make better decisions. As a former business owner, I understand the stress of bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation. While working for a tax firm, I could see a gap between CPAs and clients who needed more help than just tax preparation. I wanted to fill that gap and make it possible for all small business owners to have an accountant on their team. I work with business owners to help them understand and have confidence in their numbers, increase profit, and grow their business.

Through the SBDC I offer help getting started tracking your business finances, basic Quickbooks knowledge and troubleshooting, and basic business accounting. I also help with state and federal requirements for tax filing, quarterly payroll filing, and business registrations.

I help entrepreneurs move from "randomly posting" to a strategic, multi-channel marketing plan. Whether we are building your brand from the ground up or refining your sales funnel, I cover the entire ecosystem of modern marketing. We'll dive into everything from the technical side—like identifying and reaching your target market—to the creative side, including engaging content, captions, and hashtag strategy. From digital spaces like social media and email lists to traditional outlets like radio and newspaper, I'll help you create a cohesive campaign while building your marketing skills at your own pace.

I've been web designing for the past 20 years with an emphasis on startups and small businesses. Often, small business owners know that a website is an important part of expanding their business, but feel overwhelmed and unsure how to get started. Consultations take the daunting mystery out of getting a business online. A consultation starts with first listening to someone's vision and ideas, seeing how far the business has been developed, and identifying challenges. Once I understand a business, it helps me offer clear and tailored advice on how to best use online tools to move the business forward. Starting a business is an exciting time, and I'm happy to be a part of it.

My educational background is in Marketing & Advertising which led to several years of corporate Online Marketing. Eventually, I combined everything I'd learned about design, coding, organic SEO, marketing, and the internet into a freelance web design career. For me, web design is the perfect blend of technical, strategic, and artistic thinking. For the past two decades, I've been working with small business owners to either get their startups launched or help their growing business continue to expand. I've developed sites on Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, as well as hand-coded HTML/CSS. I often assist clients with organic SEO, branding, logo design, graphic design, and video editing. My client list includes businesses on the West Coast, East Coast, Europe, and Richfield, Utah.
