ARTICLE I – NAME
The name of the organization is the Snow College Faculty Association.
ARTICLE II – PURPOSE
Section 1 – Purpose
The Snow College Faculty Association is a campus-wide representative body for the
faculty of Snow College
- The specific objectives and purposes of this association shall be:
to be a voice of the Snow College faculty independent of academic division.
- to hear and receive concerns of any Snow College faculty member.
- to advocate for the entire faculty of Snow College to the administration.
- to represent the entire faculty of Snow College on governing bodies.
- to promote a climate of respect in all activities and efforts.
ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP
Section 1 – Membership
All Snow College full-time faculty are voting members and are encouraged to participate
in the faculty association. Part-time and adjunct faculty are also encouraged to participate
but are not voting members of the faculty association.
ARTICLE IV – MEETINGS
Section 1 – Regular Meetings
Regular meetings of the members shall be held each semester, at a time and place designated
by the president.
Section 2 – Voting
All issues to be voted on shall be decided by a simple majority of those present at
the meeting in which the vote takes place.
ARTICLE V – LEADERSHIP
Section 1 – Officers
- There shall be three officers: a president, vice president, and secretary, with at
least one member based on the Richfield Campus.
- If, after elections, no member of leadership is based in Richfield, the President
will seek after and designate a volunteer liaison from the faculty on the Richfield
Campus.
Section 2 – Responsibilities of officers
- The President will meet with the Snow College President, the Senate President and
Staff Association President monthly during Fall and Spring Semesters.
- The President will meet with the Provost and Senate President monthly during Fall
and Spring Semesters.
- One member of the leadership will attend weekly Faculty Senate meetings as a voting
member.
- If required, the Richfield campus liaison is not a member of the Association presidency.
Their role is to be available on the Richfield Campus and to bring any issues brought
to the Association for resolution.
Section 3 – Terms
All officers/liaisons shall serve a term of three years and are eligible for re-election/selection.
Section 4 – Elections
- All officers shall be elected in a single election: the member with the greatest number
of votes shall be president, the member with the second greatest number of votes shall
be vice-president, and the member with the third greatest number of votes shall be
secretary.
- The Richfield Campus Liaison, if needed, will be selected by the President from among
volunteers based on the Richfield Campus.
Section 5 – Vacancy
If an officer resigns or is unable to complete their three-year term, a replacement
will be elected by the membership of the association to finish the term.
