Irrigation Management 101

This class is designed to provide agricultural producers, small producers, even homeowners with irrigation knowledge towards scheduling, designing, and understanding soil, plant, and irrigation management principles. This course will discuss what factors need to be assessed and how to better manage irrigation with what water resources are available. 

  • Soil types and impacts on irrigation
  • Sprinkler design and nozzle types
  • Evapotranspiration and plant needs
  • Irrigation scheduling
  • Irrigation design
  • How to determine soil moisture
  • How to determine correct set times and/or application amounts

Farm and Ranch Management

Class Description:

This course is designed to teach individual farmers/ranchers to organize and computerize their farm/ranch records. Individualized instructional format focuses on record keeping with emphasis on using, operating, and maintaining computerized records. Class will consist of monthly farm/ranch visits with some group instruction. 

This course qualifies for FSA borrower training.
