About Snow College Dance

The Dance Program at Snow College offers an Associate in Science Degree in Dance. We are committed to artistic excellence through fostering a supportive and creative learning environment by providing students with an in depth and broad-ranging curriculum with an equal emphasis in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, social dance, hip hop combined with coursework that includes improvisation, performance, pedagogy and somatic practices in yoga, taichi and pilates. This broad emphasis of the program makes it unique among other dance departments in Utah and across the United States.

Students gain hands-on experience through year-long company participation with the Snow College Dance Company or Snow College Ballroom Company, and regularly work with national and international guest artists. Dancers perform in two mainstage productions and two alternative space productions each year, with choreography by faculty, guest artists, and students.

Snow College Dance is recognized on prestigious stages, including nine gala performances with the American College Dance Association Conference, DANCENOW Festival in New York City, and Midwest RADFest. Student and faculty work has appeared at national and international festivals such as FilmFest by Rogue Dancer, Festival Videodance de Puerto Rico, Festival Cuadro por Danza, Montrose International Screendance Festival, RDT’s Link Series, and Monday Movement Lab produced by loveDANCEmore.

The program provides clear pathways to professional opportunities. Snow College has 2+2 transfer agreements with dance programs at SUU, Utah Tech, Westminster College, and Weber State, allowing students to seamlessly continue their studies toward a bachelor’s degree while maximizing their training and performance experiences.
